Nehanda, Tongogara reincarnated on stage

THEATRE lovers on Tuesday night had a rare opportunity to witness national heroes Mbuya Nehanda, Josiah Tongogara and Joshua Nkomo converging in the spiritual realm in an indaba to thrash out how to rescue their beloved land from the jaws of corruption, economic crisis and police brutality.

The collaborative theatrical piece, titled Liberation, was penned by veteran playwright, Leonard Matsa and directed by South African Bongani Masango under Savanna Trust.

In an interview after the drama showcase at Theatre in the Park, Matsa said the story was inspired by the need for accountability in governance.
