Naqvi finally gets his Test chance as fans question Madhevere, Masakadza picks

BELGIAN-BORN allrounder Antum Naqvi has finally earned his maiden Test call-up after being named in Zimbabwe’s 17-member squad for the two-match series against Afghanistan, a selection that has been welcomed by supporters who have long clamoured for his inclusion.

However, while Naqvi’s selection has generated excitement, the inclusion of Wellington Masakadza and Wessly Madhevere has sparked debate among fans, with some questioning their continued presence in the national team.

Brian Bennett will captain the Chevrons in the series, with the first Test scheduled for November 5 to 9 and the second running from November 13 to 17.
