Namib fast-tracks Redwing restart to meet mining policy targets
Boitumelo Makhurane ·

HARARE, Nov. 4 (NewsDay Live) – Namib Minerals is accelerating the restart of Redwing Mine in Zimbabwe, targeting first gold production this month as it moves to bring a second asset into production and capitalise on its existing mining infrastructure.
The November restart, which is ahead of the company’s previously planned timeline, follows new government production requirements for foreign-owned mining operators, forcing Namib to bring forward plans to recommission the mine while continuing with a feasibility study for its long-term expansion.
