Music dominates Nama 2017 entries

THE National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (Nacz) yesterday said music dominated entries of the 2017 National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) with the category accounting for 539 of the 1 334 total entries received from across the country, ahead of the November 30 cut-off date.

The 17th edition of Nama is scheduled for February 17, 2018.

Figures released yesterday showed that the upsurge of 559 entries in all categories — Music, Literary, Dance, Visual, Film and Television, Theatre, Media and Spoken Word —represented a 72% increase from the 2016 submissions pegged at 775.
