Mliswa arrested again

NewsDay Staff ·

Police Monday arrested Zanu PF activist and businessman Temba Mliswa once again — this time for what his lawyer Charles Chinyama said were “fresh charges” whose details he did not have as of last night.

But sources close to the case said the charges bordered on extortion involving a financial deal that went sour between the fitness trainer and former employees.

Mliswa, who was arrested and detained several times last year and at one time faced over 70 charges associated with violence, property seizure, extortion, fraud and intimidation, was picked up at the Harare Magistrates’ Court where he had gone to attend the continuation of his trial on one of the charges he is facing.
