MDC-T senator wins peace award

National Healing co-minister Sekai Holland has been awarded the 2012 Sydney Peace Prize in recognition of her courageous campaign for human rights and democracy in Zimbabwe.

Holland, an MDC-T senator for Chizhanje (Mabvuku), was announced the winner of the $50 000 award on Monday night at a reception hosted by the Australian ambassador to Zimbabwe, Matthew Neuhaus.

This award comes as a wonderful surprise, but one which is so encouraging.
