HARARE, June 3 (NewsDay Live) — Prominent opposition activist Godfrey Karembera, popularly known as Madzibaba VeShanduko, has been acquitted after spending eight months in prison on charges linked to alleged anti-government mobilisation.
His lawyer, Paida Saurombe, said the court found that the State had failed to produce evidence linking Karembera to the offence.
“The magistrate found that there was no evidence connecting him to the crime and accordingly acquitted and discharged him,” Saurombe said.
