Land distribution captured on stage

A SPELLBINDING theatre performance, The Taking, on Friday night captured Zimbabwean history over the controversial land distribution exercise.

The show, performed before a handful of theatre fanatics, saw the five-member cast exchanging roles to put their message across, as they took turns to play the roles of war veterans and commercial white farmers.

The thrust of the performance was to capture the ripple effects of the programme to establish who benefitted and how it also affected both races.
