Kwekwe tender saga deepens

THE controversy surrounding the awarding of prepaid water meter tenders at Kwekwe City Council continues to deepen, with the local authority failing to announce the winner, six months after re-advertising the project.

Council last year cancelled the $300 000 tender following a public outcry over the adjudication process, forcing it to invite fresh bids in April.

Some of the companies which submitted bids yesterday cried foul over council’s failure to announce the winner.
