Kereke: The kettle calling the pot black

NewsDay Staff ·

In an ironically familiar development, the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) came under severe attack directly and through innuendo in a story published in a State-run weekly headlined Anti-Corruption Commission sucked into Prime Ministers house saga.

In the story, former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) top official Dr Munyaradzi Kereke accused ZACC commissioner Emmanuel Chimwanda of brazenly intimidating members of the public and trying to exonerate Premier Morgan Tsvangirai in the ongoing investigation over whether the PM abused about US$1,5 million allocated to him by the central bank to purchase a house.

In a letter to ZACC chairperson Denford Chirindo, dated April 5 2012, confirming that he authored the letter with allegations against his former employers, Kereke expressed reservations at the way Chimwanda conducted himself when he came to see him.
