Karoi memorial service cancelled as mass burials held

KAROI, Aug. 16 (NewsDay Live) — A planned memorial service for victims of the Mbuya Nehanda boat disaster was cancelled in Karoi at the weekend as families across Hurungwe and Kariba buried their loved ones.

The service, organised by the Hurungwe District Development Coordinator’s office, Karoi Town Council and the Hurungwe Pastors Fraternity, was called off at the eleventh hour after several pastors left to preside over burials of victims of the disaster.
