Judges, top cops named in scam

Four High Court judges, nine top police officers and a politician benefited from a fraud by a former senior Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) official under the farm mechanisation programme. The RBZ lost farm implements worth thousands of dollars in 2009, the Harare Regional Court heard yesterday.

Report by Charles Laiton, Senior Court Reporter Ex-RBZ top official Joseph Banda, who illegally distributed the farm implements under the mechanisation programme to the senior government officials, was yesterday slapped with a four-year jail term after being convicted of fraud.
