Job losses: Time for a ‘responsibility pact’?

By and large the ailing economy is the major reason why jobs were lost when the Supreme Court clarified the law on the issue of termination of employee contracts by employers on three-month notice. It is still a puzzle so few as 20 000 have been fired given the weaknesses of many corporate balance sheets, both private and public.
