Japan eager to promote local cinema industry

THE second secretary at the Japanese embassy in Zimbabwe Masa Iida has said his country wants to help promote the cinema industry in the country by bringing in unique films from Japan into the country.

Iida told NewsDay that it was worrisome that cinema audiences for Japanese and other films continued to deplete every year.

“Every year we are a bit sad to see there are very few audiences at cinema houses not only with our films, but with other films as well.
