Japan comes to the rescue of GBV victims in Zvishavane

VICTIMS of gender-based violence (GBV) in Zvishavane are set to benefit from improved protection, rehabilitation and economic empowerment services following the construction of a new shelter, vocational training centre and ablution block.

The facilities, funded to the tune of US$71,940  by the government of Japan, were officially commissioned on Monday as part of the commemoration of the International Day of Rural Women 2026.

The project was implemented by the Local Initiatives and Development Agency (LID Agency), with support from Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects programme.
