Ingwebu charges workers in bonus spat

A storm is brewing between Ingwebu Breweries and its employees after management reportedly gave written warnings to workers who took part in a “strike” last month over non-payment of bonuses.

Over 100 workers at the council-owned company staged a sit-in after management told them they would not be paid their bonuses as the company was facing cashflow problems.

Management reportedly told the workers that the company would not be able to increase their salaries, which have not been reviewed since 2009.
