House of Wax tipped to sweep Castle Tankard

Borrowdale Racecourse will come to life today when it hosts the 50th running of Africa’s oldest sponsored race — the 2013 Castle Tankard race where a 13-horse field will be vying for a stake of the $50 000 prize money with House of Wax tipped to win.

This year’s Castle Tankard marks the Golden Jubilee of the race that started in 1960.

The Castle Tankard, a Grade One race which is the fifth leg of the open series, will be run over 2 000 metres and will be the main attraction in a seven-race programme.
