HIV+ man jailed 33 years for raping brother’s daughter

NewsDay Staff ·

A 29-year-old HIV positive man was last Friday slapped with a 33-year jail term after being convicted on three counts of raping his brother’s 22-year-old daughter.

Report  by Charles Laiton
The rapist resides at Tomlinson Depot police camp in Harare and was staying with the victim, an orphan who also tested HIV positive.

It was, however, not established how each of the two got infected with the virus, but regional magistrate Sandra Mupindu lambasted the rapist for quenching his sexual appetite on his “own daughter”.
