Harare plots to stop ownership of aggressive dog breeds

HARARE City Council says it is set to regulate dog ownership aimed at ending the menace of stray and aggressive dogs in the city’s neighbourhoods.

This was revealed during a full council meeting held at Town House this week, where mayor Jacob Mafume asked the acting director of urban planning, Samuel Nyabezi, to review and update the local authority’s Dogs Act.

In response, Nyabezi said there was legislation already in place, which, however, was not being fully enforced.
