Harare derby match official slapped with a six-month ban

Zifa has handed a six-month ban to assistant referee Obey Mbengo, barring him from officiating in the Premier Soccer League following a disciplinary review into his conduct during the Harare Derby.

The suspension follows Mbengo’s performance in the encounter between CAPS United and city rivals Dynamos on September 5.

Zifa confirmed the sanctions in a statement this afternoon, noting that the match official had breached Article 22 of the Referees Code of Conduct.
