HAC UK, Rotary transform rural school in Chegutu

A PARTNERSHIP between Hope for African Communities UK (HAC UK) and Rotary International has transformed learning conditions at Zvamaida Primary School in Chegutu District through the construction of three classroom blocks and a library, in a project aimed at improving access to quality education in rural communities.

The initiative, undertaken in partnership with the Rotary Club of Basildon Concord in the United Kingdom, Chegutu Rural District Council and the local community, is expected to benefit about 300 pupils.

Speaking on the sidelines of the handover ceremony, HAC UK founder and chairperson Mufaro Mapanda said her decision to support the school was inspired by the difficult conditions she witnessed during her first visit to the area in 2018, which brought back memories of her own childhood.
