NewsDay Staff ·

GOVERNMENT says it is now ready to collaborate with the World Bank to boost Zimbabwe’s livestock and dairy sectors, confirming that the industry is overwhelmed by regulatory hurdles.
In a statement on Wednesday, Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development permanent secretary Obert Jiri called for the streamlining of processes to make it easier and more affordable for farmers and producers to operate as the move will stimulate growth.
Jiri emphasised the ministry’s readiness to collaborate with the World Bank to boost Zimbabwe’s livestock and dairy sectors, highlighting that the industry requires substantial support, particularly in reducing regulatory hurdles such as licensing requirements, associated costs and time constraints in the dairy and beef sectors.
