Gutu family seeks military land boundaries

LAWYERS representing the Mandebvu family have asked the Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) to provide coordinates showing the boundaries of Eastdale Air Base as the family challenges its removal from disputed farmland in Gutu, Masvingo province.

The request seeks to establish how much of the disputed Eastdale Ranch falls within the military reservation and whether any portion of the land occupied by the family lies outside it.

In a letter dated April 10, 2026, addressed to the family’s legal practitioners, Mutendi, Mudisi and Shumba, the AFZ stated that it wanted the matter resolved .
