Foetus found in Cowdray Park

Police are investigating a suspected case of backyard abortion after a foetus, suspected to be seven or eight months old, was found near a communal tap in the Hlalani Kuhle section of Bulawayo’s Cowdray Park suburb.

A resident said he was sleeping in his house when his niece woke him up, saying she had seen a strange object in the yard.

“I am sure the girl who did it, whoever it is, dug a shallow grave here and dumped the foetus in a plastic bag,” he said.
