Fired HR manager faces 7 fresh charges

Jairos Saunyama ·

A 40-YEAR-OLD Proton Bakers human resources manager, who is currently facing 10 counts of receiving bribes from job-seekers on the pretext that he would secure employment for them, was yesterday arraigned before Marondera magistrate Paul Mudonhi facing seven fresh bribery and extortion charges.

Thomas Rugoho, who has since been relieved of his duties at the confectionery manufacturer, is being accused of extorting money from job-seekers in Mutare ranging between $150 and $200 before securing them employment at the bakery.

However, the matter was postponed to August 6 after Rugoho pleaded with the court to give him enough time to deal with the ongoing matter in which he is facing 10 counts of bribery.
