Fire guts city house

NewsDay Staff ·

Property, including sofas, blankets, a cupboard and clothes, was destroyed when a fire broke out at a house in Bulawayo’s Entumbane yesterday morning.

Residents said the fire was caused by an unattended candle in one of the rooms, but Fire Brigade officials blamed an electrical short circuit. Children who stay at the house told NewsDay that their grandparents were not at home as they were at work when the fire broke out at the house they were renting.
