Fake notes ring denied bail

HARARE magistrate Tendai Mahwe yesterday denied bail to the three people arrested while printing fake United States dollars and South African Rands.

He ruled that the accused were not suitable candidates for bail as they were likely to abscond the trial fearing conviction in view of the fact that they were caught red handed.

The trio of Wonder Panashe, Edgar Kadawu and Melonisha Karuma were arrested in Sunningdale after a tip-off that they were involved in printing fake money.
