Expert explains copyright law

COPYRIGHT law was designed to protect the expression of ideas rather than the ideas themselves, intellectual property (IP) specialist, Tariro Anifasi, has said.

Anifasi told NewsDay in an interview that an idea, which was not expressed, was not covered under the law.

“The key point in protection of copyright is that it is the expression of the idea that is protected and not the idea itself,” she said.
