Econet subscriber base surge

ECONET Wireless Zimbabwe says the just-ended festive season resulted in a surge in its subscriber base crossing the eight million level for the first time, supported by the recent introduction of Buddie Zone.

Buddie Zone is a service that allows subscribers to enjoy discounts on Econet to Econet calls depending on their location and time of day.

In a statement, the company’s commercial director George Barbaressos said the demand for Econet lines remained “very, very strong”.
