Director suspended over stands scam

NewsDay Staff ·

KADOMA — The City of Kadoma has sent its housing and community services director on forced leave to pave way for a full-scale probe into alleged unprocedural sale of housing stands.

The scam could have prejudiced the council of thousands of dollars in potential revenue.

Kadoma mayor Councillor Peter Matambo yesterday confirmed that the top official, Joel Madzivanyika — who has since appeared in court for allegedly swindling council of $3 500 in a land deal — is on forced leave without pay and benefits.
