Council takes over Caledonia settlement

Harare City Council has taken over Caledonia informal settlement and is now in charge of allocating residential stands to ensure proper planning and infrastructure development.

Council chamber secretary Josephine Ncube said the move was necessitated by findings of a recent audit which unearthed massive corruption by housing co-operatives and land barons selling stands in the area.
