Child rape in Zimbabwe persists unabated

I am sure you all read about the 10-year-old girl that video-taped her uncle as he tried to coerce her into a sexual act which was used as evidence resulting in a 14-year jail term.

The girl had earlier been raped by the same person but never made a report because she perhaps feared no one would believe her.

You see when such cases happen involving close relatives, there is a tendency by family members to try and protect the family name by keeping the matter a secret.
