Cabinet approves ZIA amendments

NewsDay Staff ·

Cabinet on Tuesday approved proposed amendments to the Zimbabwe Investment Authority Act that seeks to give legal effect on the recently launched one-stop shop investment centre.

The new law would result in the establishment of a Board of Investment replacing the Zimbabwe Investment Authority (ZIA) and would be in charge of registrations of new investors into the country.

The current Act provides that investors may register with ZIA but does not compel them to do so, a wrong that the new Act would seek to correct.
