Biti releases $10m for Dimaf

NewsDay Staff ·

The Ministry of Finance has deposited $10 million of the government’s share of the Distressed Industries and Marginalised Areas Fund (Dimaf) meant to resuscitate ailing industries in the country, a Cabinet minister has said.

Industry and Commerce minister Welshman Ncube confirmed in an interview at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) yesterday that the money — half of government’s $20 million pledge — had finally been deposited.

“I have spoken to Finance minister Tendai Biti and he has informed me that on the 17th of April, he deposited $10 million for Dimaf,” he said.
