Barbarians beat Zim Under-19
NewsDay Staff ·
The British Independent Schools Barbarians side beat Zimbabwe Under-19 side 21 – 14 in a closely contested rugby match at St John’s College Wednesday.
Playing at St John’s College, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary, a win for the Young Sables could have been a befitting present but two tries apiece from Jamie Harris and Alex Wilckockson, Charlies Jewers’ three penalties and two conversions proved to be a hindrance.
Young Sables’ captain Hilton Mudariki’s three penalties and Victor Mushoriwa’s try in the first half were not enough for the Brighton Chivandire coached side who were struggling with their tackling.
