Bara set for Sables debut against Namibia

ISHMAEL Bara is set to make his Zimbabwe Sables debut when they take on Namibia in an unofficial Test at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday, as preparations for next month’s Nations Cup in Europe gather momentum.

The prop caught the eye of the Sables technical team during last weekend’s training match against Zim A at Old Hararians Sports Club, earning an opportunity to stake his claim for a place in head coach Pieter Benade’s plans.

Bara has been named among the replacements for Saturday’s encounter, which kicks off at 3pm, and will be eager to make the most of his opportunity as he looks to secure a place in the squad for the Nations Cup and, ultimately, the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.
