Audio:Tsvangirai wants out
NewsDay Staff ·

FORMER Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai wanted to step down as MDC-T president soon after he lost to President Robert Mugabe for the third time in the July 31 polls, sources said yesterday.
Tsvangirai has used different platforms to declare that he would not be stepping down before his term ends in 2016.
However, reliable sources said the former Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions secretary-general reportedly proposed a special congress to allow the party to choose a new leader during an MDC-T standing committee meeting held soon after the harmonised elections.
