NewsDay Staff ·

THE Anglican Diocese of Manicaland’s investment in sport and education is continuing to deliver results, with St Mathias Tsonzo High School emerging runners-up at the National Association of Secondary School Heads (NASH) Under-17 football national championships in Bulawayo.
The Mutasa District-based school, representing Manicaland after winning the provincial title, narrowly missed out on national glory after losing 4-2 on penalties to Masvingo Province’s Pamushana High School following a goalless draw in regulation time.
St Mathias Tsonzo produced a disciplined defensive performance throughout the final, with goalkeeper Blessed Duri making crucial saves to keep his team in contention in a tightly contested encounter.
