Activists warn Zimbabwean youth against deceptive Russia-Ukraine war recruitment
Nqobani Ndlovu ·

Human rights activists took to the streets this week, distributing fliers urging young Zimbabweans to resist deceptive recruitment into the Russia-Ukraine war, as President Emmerson Mnangagwa attends the Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow.
The campaign comes amid mounting evidence of a deadly trafficking pipeline that has already claimed Zimbabwean lives.
The recruitment drive has also targeted young women through Russia’s “Alabuga Start” initiative, advertised as a training programme but linked to drone production for the war effort.
