‘3 000 new schools plan a campaign gimmick’

FORMER Primary and Secondary Education minister David Coltart yesterday took a dig at government’s ambitious plan to construct
3 000 schools countrywide, describing it as a campaign gimmick ahead of the 2023 elections.
On Wednesday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa appealed to the private sector to build more schools as the demand for education continues to skyrocket in the country.
“There is no doubt that Zimbabwe needs more schools, particularly in some dissipated parts of the country and we particularly need more science laboratories.
