$1 500 picked at roadblock, ‘owner’ arrested

A 37-YEAR-OLD Chitungwiza man yesterday appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Court facing fraud after claiming ownership of $1 500 cash which was recovered at a police roadblock in Selous near Chegutu.

Simbarashe Madzvamuse was not asked to plead when he appeared before magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti, who remanded him to December 12 for trial on $100 bail.

Allegations against Madzvamuse are that on May 2 this year, Ishmael Kudzai Ndoro arrived at the Saruwe roadblock driving from Kadoma en route to Harare when police stopped him to check his vehicle.
