ZIFA has urged football coaches nationwide to participate in a continuous survey to update the coaches' database by the national football governing body as it concentrates on enabling advancement courses in the near future.

In a communique gleaned by NewsDay Sport yesterday, Zifa extended the deadline for the survey to March 31 and encouraged all coaches in the country’s four regions to take part in the process, which is earmarked to play a vital role in the development and strategic planning in coaching.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) wishes to inform all stakeholders that the deadline for the ongoing national coaches' survey has been extended to Monday, March 31, 2025. This initiative aims to gather comprehensive information on the number of qualified coaches in Zimbabwe, their respective qualifications, current employment status and other relevant details. The data collected will play a crucial role in the development and strategic planning of football coaching in the country and will enable those that have taken part to attend future training courses facilitated by the association,” Zifa said.

The statement added: “Zifa encourages all coaches who have not yet participated in the survey to take this opportunity to provide their details before the revised deadline. Your co-operation is vital in ensuring accurate and up-to-date records that will contribute to the growth and professionalisation of football coaching in Zimbabwe.”

Zifa last held Caf A courses in 2017 but until last year, enforced that all coaches in the Premier Soccer League should possess that coaching badge.

In 2022, Fifa suspended Zifa from all football activities over government interference in the country’s football matters and the then normalisation committee last year sent a reprieve to the coaches in PSL that they required a Caf B Licence.
