HARARE giants Dynamos will this afternoon be looking to capture the country’s biggest knockout tournament Chibuku Super Cup for the second year running and return to the African safari when they take on Ngezi Platinum Stars at Rufaro Stadium.
The two teams played last year’s final, which Dynamos won 2-1 at Baobab Stadium.
This time, the final is at Rufaro and Dynamos will fancy their chances.
DeMbare warmed for the potentially explosive decider with a tour of the Chibuku Breweries in Harare yesterday following an invitation by the sponsors of the Cup tournament.
Coach Lloyd Chigowe, along with all his players as well the management, were part of the tour which sought to help the club familiarise with the brand that sponsors the biggest knockout competition.
An invitation had also been extended to the other finalist, Ngezi Platinum Stars, but they couldn’t attend because of camping demands as they prepared for the final.

Speaking at the Chibuku plant yesterday, Dynamos chief executive officer Jonathan Mashingaidze said the tour was an eye opener for the team while emphasising the need to win the Cup.
“It was quite an eye opener and it afforded the players and the leadership a chance to appreciate the product that drives this Premier knockout tournament, the Chibuku Super Cup, and we are looking forward to a special Saturday tomorrow [today] and we want to pop Chibuku Super after the 90 minutes tomorrow,” he said.
“We want to win so that we can have another chance to go back to the African safari.
“Secondly, we want to make sure that our fans come in their numbers because it would be important for the boys in this edition and next year’s edition.
“We have to make sure as Dynamos that we make the Chibuku Super Cup become a permanent part of our family.”
Club secretary-general Webster Marechera was also part of the tour, which included going through the brewery processes as well as the packaging until the product is ready for the market.
The Premier Soccer League was represented by competitions manager Elisha Mandireva and marketing manager Rodwell Thabe.
“On behalf of the Premier Soccer League, we are grateful to our Cup sponsors Chibuku Super for this opportunity they have extended to both teams for a plant tour,” Thabe said.
“Today, we had Dynamos coming through and it’s a fantastic opportunity for the team to intermerge and interrelate with a brand that sponsors the biggest Cup in Zimbabwe so we are very happy.
“As the PSL, we hope to have more similar tours to strengthen the symbiotic relationship that we have with Chibuku at the moment.”
The Chibuku Super Cup final, which will see the same teams that played each other at last year’s final and saw Dynamos winning the tournament, kicks off at 2:30pm.
