It was a second title in as many months for Teguru after he also won the Harare Classic last month, ending the year in style by winning the biggest title in the land.

Teguru brushed aside a tough challenge from the likes of Fitness Factory (South Africa) athlete Edward Mutero, who came out second and Nigel Maphosa from Moove Melrose, also in South Africa who finished third.

This year’s event saw competition in eight different categories which included the men’s fitness open men’s physique, women’s bikini, junior men’s bodybuilding, 23 years and below, women wellness open, wheelchair men bodybuilding, senior men over 80 kg and senior bodybuilding 80 kg and below.

“I am super excited to be crowned Zim National bodybuilding champion,” said Teguru.

“Even if I go international, I can tell them that I am the best athlete in my country simply because I am the holder of the Iron Man title which I won three times, Mr Harare and the Zim title is a very important achievement I’m so grateful to be Mr Zimbabwe.”
