ZIMBABWE Football Association (Zifa) aspiring president Marshall Gore has promised to invest in youth academies to resuscitate grassroots football in the country.
Gore has announced his desire to run for the Zifa presidency in next year's elections.
He said his priority is to resuscitate grassroots football as well as focusing on upgrading soccer facilities across the country.
“In grassroots development, I want to focus on investing in youth academies, training facilities and coaching programmes to nurture young talent across the country,” Gore said.
“My dream is to facilitate the upgrading of football stadiums, training grounds and facilities to meet international standards.”
Zimbabwe is currently using foreign stadiums after local facilities were declared unfit for international matches.

Gore’s professional career spans over 30 years in football, healthcare and business.
“There is need to strengthen the local regional football leagues and the Premier Soccer League by attracting sponsors, improving team management and ensuring a competitive structure,” he added.
Other aspiring candidates include soccer pundit Charles Mabika, cleric Walter Magaya, former Caps United owner Twine Phiri and businessman Brighton “Panjap” Ushendibaba.
