SCOTTLAND coach Genesis Mangombe says his side will keep log leaders Mwos on their toes following his team's 2-1 win over a battling Golden Eagles in a tightly contested Zifa Northern Region Soccer League match played at the Heart Stadium yesterday.

Cleopas Dube scored a brace in either half, but the ambitious side had to endure a nervy last few minutes of the game following a late goal by Salif Cheya. Golden Eagles came close to an equaliser in added on time, but Munashe Kaseke's effort rattled the cross bar.

Yesterday's victory moved Scottland to 63 points to maintain a seven point gap between them and Mwos who beat Zambezi 2-0.

Mangombe was relieved that his team managed to clinch a win despite a late onslaught from their opponents.

"We are happy we managed to grind a result. We have reached a point where we don't have to drop points. We will keep trying our best to get maximum points. We are keeping pressure on the league leaders which is good for us. We want to keep them busy and put them under pressure," Mangombe said.

Scottland's next match is a tricky fixture away to Chinhoyi Stars.

"Now we focus on the next assignment and it's very important that we collect maximum points even if we are playing the next match away," Mangombe added.
