The Rainbow Amateur Netball League (RANL) secretary-general Moses Gukurume has revealed plans to honour the late Gems icon Pauline Jani next month.
Jani, a former national team goal shooter, passed away in October last year and left a remarkable legacy to her name.
Gukurume said the league had something on their cards in honour of the late netball star.
“We have got something on the cards. We are trying to organise [something] in October in memory of Pauline Jani and also in commemoration of the breast cancer month,” he said.
“We won’t say much for now because we want to rope in teams from other leagues so that it cuts across all leagues.
“We haven’t started negotiations with other leagues as yet, but we want it to encompass everyone so that we celebrate together. We also have the Glow Cup on the cards, but details will be availed in due course.”

Gukurume commended the league’s progress so far as the season is now drawing to an end.
The season commenced in February, with a total of 21 teams from across the country on board.
After playing 30 games, with the latest games played last weekend, reigning champions Glow Petroleum have maintained their grip and are leading the pack sitting on 59 points.
Correctional Queens are closely trailing behind with the same points, with only a superior goal difference separating the two.
ZRP Mambas are on 52 points to complete the top three.
Gukurume said although some teams are still struggling to fulfil their fixtures, the competition that has been shown so far in the league is remarkable.
“We are excited so far in terms of the progression of our league since we started in February. We are coming to the end and we have seen major improvements in our league in terms of competition and player performance. We managed to have some new teams on board this season and they have managed to exhibit themselves quite well,” he said.
“However, there are some teams which are still struggling to travel and fulfil their fixtures and that is a major concern, especially our small teams.
“In the same vein, we are excited that we have seen the coming on board of the corporate world to support the main existing teams.
“Small teams like Hi-Fliers from Masvingo have also been assisted by some companies and individuals to participate in their games and this has helped a lot in easing pressure on our teams.”
Hi-Fliers have shown commitment to the sport since they travel across the country using public transport to fulfil fixtures.
