Zambian coach Kelvin Kaindu has bounced back at Highlanders as head coach replacing Portuguese Baltemar Brito whose contract with the club expires on December 31.
The Bulawayo giants have since part ways with Brito, who could be returning to Zimbabwe to resume the Warriors’ 2026 Fifa World Cup campaign.
Kaindu, a former Highlanders player, is not new to the position that he has been thrust into, having presided over the team in 2012 to 2014.
Highlanders have confirmed the return of Kaindu to the fore.
“Highlanders Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Kelvin Kaindu as the new head coach for the club's first team. Kaindu is not new to the club, having previously played for Highlanders in 1997 before he was entrusted with the Bosso dugout between 2012 and 2014. The entire management at the club would like to extend a warm welcome to Kaindu and wish him all the best as he opens yet another chapter with Highlanders Football Club,” the club said.
