TRIANGLE . . . . . . . . . . (0)3
BULAWAYO CITY . . . . . . . 0
Triangle returned to winning ways with a dominant second half performance to defeat relegation candidates Bulawayo City in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Gibbo Stadium yesterday.
Before yesterday’s win, the home side had last recorded a victory was at the end of July when they beat Black Rhinos 1-0, also at Gibbo.
Since then, they played four matches without collecting maximum points.
It looked like the Jairos Tapera-coached side would have another frustrating afternoon when a Donald Ngoma’s goal effort was flagged for an offside early on.

And just after the half-hour mark, the home side were denied what appeared a genuine penalty.
They went on to struggle for fluidity in the remainder of the first half.
But the Lowveld side turned on the power with a dominant second half showing to break City's resistance.
After Kelvin Gwao’s effort had again been ruled out for an offside on 55th minute, there was no denying the home side when Triangle where awarded a spot kick three minutes later.
Gerald Bhero took responsibility to convert.
Eight minutes later, they doubled their lead when Misheck Ngwenya capitalised on a defensive mix-up between City keeper and his defenders to score.
Ngoma put the icing on the cake on 70th minute with a goal from close range, after Bhero did the hard work, eliminating two markers before squaring the ball for the former FC Platinum attacker to score.
“It was one of our best games in terms of attack. We could have scored two in the first half but we came back hungrier in the second half,” Tapera said.
“I can’t comment on the disallowed goals, I can only say the goals we goat are the ones we deserved.”
The victory took Triangle to seventh position on the log standings with 39 points while City is down in the relegation zone at 15th position with 24 points.
