LEADER of Johanne the Fifth of Africa Archbishop Andby Makururu prophecy has come to fruition after claiming that President Mokgweetsi Masisi will lose this year's elections.

Botswana's voters delivered a shock defeat to the ruling party Botswana Democratic Party after ruling for nearly six decades.

The 54-year-old Duma Boko, of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) coalition, will replace Masisi, who on Friday conceded defeat.

On 23 December last year Makururu prophesied on the Southern African Region Development Committee elections in South Africa, Botswana and Mozambique.

He also prophesied civil unrest after the Mozambique elections were Frelimo won.

“I can smell bad news in the Southern African Development Committee for the 2024 Presidential elections in Mozambique, Botswana, South Africa,” Makururu said in his post.

“Botswana, l have seen the opposition winning so God has sent me to go to Botswana to pray so the ruling party will win,” he added.

“The Western countries have sent agents to destabilise the Sadc region for their own benefits so God sent me to pray for this to restore peace in Africa,”.

“That is why we are facing hunger and we are experiencing poor rainfall this season. So we need to dialogue with the heads of States for Botswana and South Africa. African leaders must unite and have a dialogue to fight these agencies from western countries for a better future of Africa,” said Makururu.

In his first public remarks after being sworn-in as the new president, Boko said he was humbled by the election outcome.

This year South Africa’s  African National Congress (ANC) led by Cyril Ramaphosa  party  suffered a challenging election result, after the party lost its majority for the first time since apartheid ended 30 years ago.

The ANC, once led by Nelson Mandela, won 159 seats in the 400-seat parliament in Wednesday's election, down from 230 in the previous assembly.

In Mozambique elections which were held recently were marred by violence.

Security forces killed at least 11 people and injured dozens of others using live bullets and tear gas during post-election protests across the country. Human Rights Watch said today.

On October 24, the Mozambican election commission announced that Daniel Chapo and the ruling party Frente de Libertação de Moçambique (Front for the Liberation of Mozambique, FRELIMO) had won the October 9 general elections.

The elections and pre-elections period were marred by political killings, widespread irregularities, and restrictions on the rights to freedom of expression and assembly.

Interestingly Makururu has been in Mozambique frequently campaigning for Frelimo and at one time was seen with Chapo.

Makururu who has visited President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House on several occasions prophesied Zanu PF Presidential elections win in 2018.
